Mail Client Set-up

This page describes the steps necessary to set up ePOST in different mail clients. Please choose your mail client from the list below, and you will be taken to instructions specific to your email client.

General Settings

If you already know how to set up your email client, the server information is below. Note that you should have already successfully launched your ePOST proxy before setting up your mail client. Also note that userid refers to the name you chose when obtaining your certificate, and location refers to the location you chose (such as 'rice' or 'open').

• IMAP SERVER: 127.0.0.1:1143
• SMTP SERVER: 127.0.0.1:2025
• LOGON NAME: userid
• EMAIL ADDRESS: userid@location.epostmail.org
• SECURITY SETTINGS: CRAM-MD5 Challenge-Response

You can configure your ePOST proxy to accept only secure SSL connections from your mail client. In this case, you need to configure you mail client to use SSL. The port numbers don't change.
